The newest collection of watercolor artwork portrayed in a show by wildlife artist Jeanette Fournier is a reflection of the diversity of animals, which can be found in our surroundings. From a neighboring farm to our backyards and the forests beyond, there are paintings of the smallest of creatures on up to the black bears and other "rock stars" of the animal world in the New England area. With her trademark attention to detail, these watercolor paintings are meant to be intimate portraits that capture a viewer's attention. She seeks to portray animals engaged in activities that are reflective of their lives in their natural setting and remind us not only of what the wild world is about but also what it still can be. She captures her subject matter with an appreciation for nature that is as much instinct as inclination and offers a chance for a close up look at the beauty of the animals that share our world. While some of her works of art may be small in scale, they leave a lasting impression and are a reminder of the importance of sharing our wild spaces with nature's creatures.
