LOCAL WORKS FARMERS MARKET

LOCAL WORKS FARMERS MARKET NEWS!

A second market planned in Berlin for Summer of 2010

This year WREN is planning to operate an outdoor marketplace in two locations - our popular Saturday market in Bethlehem and a new, Thursday night market that will take place on Main Street in Berlin. Vendors and WREN members who register to participate in one market will automatically be able to take part in the other at no extra cost.

WREN is excited to be able to offer this great, two-town opportunity to our members. There are no other markets within 30 miles of Berlin and, with the right advertising, we think that this will be a great addition to our entrepreneurial offerings. It should also bring a needed burst of lively economic energy to a downtown environment that is ready to see some fresh action.

To ensure the success of this new venture in a new location, WREN has partnered with BIDPA (Berlin Industrial Development and Parks Authority), a Commission of the City of Berlin committed to supporting Berlin's economy and downtown merchants. We are grateful to BIDPA for their donation of $6,139 for signage and advertising of the 2010 Local Works Berlin Farmers Market. WREN was delighted by the warm reception we were given by residents, businesses and Berlin city officials and we look forward to forming partnerships with other local organizations and entities.

The Bethlehem market will operate on Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm; the Berlin market, still in early planning stages, is expected to run from 4 to 7pm on Thursday evenings. We encourage anybody interested in selling produce, food products, prepared food or crafts to come to one of the planning meetings listed below.

Early registration incentive: Any vendor who registers for either the Bethlehem or Berlin market by April 1st can attend the all-day Bruce Baker marketing workshop for free! This entertaining interactive seminar is a power packed day not to be missed, covering topics like boosting sales, improving your marketing materials, product presentation and booth display.
